Get Lots Of Backlinks

Getting a lot of backlinks is very important for a high ranking in search engines. If your site or page is linked to often, search engines know that the content pf those pages are important.
So the question becomes: how do you get more backlinks?
Well, actually there are many ways to get more backlinks. One of the easiest ways is to submit them to web directories such as Google Directory and Yahoo! Directory. It will take some time for the directories to process your requests, so be patient. You'll find you will need that more often in the search engine game.
Another way is to just ask other webmasters for backlinks. The more popular the other website is, the better. But don't spam them! Think whether your site is relevant even to be considered linking to from the other site. It would also be nice of you to link back to them.
You might find it hard to get backlinks this way, but often it's worth to try it. For every few no's, you'll get a yes, which will help you both in traffic and search engine ranking. What really helps is when your site provides some genuine value to the visitors of the site you're requesting a backlink from.
Finally, leave your link in as many relevant places as possible. Did you notice the word 'relevant' in that sentence? Don't spam forums in order to get your site listed as many times as possible. That's one of the fastest ways to get your account banned on that site and to give your site a bad reputation. Go to forums that talk about the same things your site does and leave your link in your signature.
Also, there are many article sites that let you to submit articles and allow you to add a link to your site.
