Why is Backlinks and Pageranking so important?
Pageranking is very important to all Webmasters, as a low Pagerank could mean that you will not be found in most search engines.
The more Backlinks you have to your site, the higher the Pagerank, the more visitors you will get to your website.
It is very important to Webmasters to have their link loading on other websites with a high Pagerank, this will in turn increase your Pagerank.
Example: www.test.com is placed on the main page of a website, everytime this website is seen by someone, your link is being loaded as well. This produces a Backlink to your site. The more Backlinks you have the higher the Pagerank etc.
You can purchase Textlinks on important sites, this can be expensive but very worthwhile if you have a site that you are serious about in the long term.
How do I monitor my Backlinks and Pagerank?
A good way of monotoring your Backlinks and Pagerank is by joining a free SEO Tools and Pageranking website ie. www.PRprofi.net .
All you need to do is add a small peice of code to your site. A small graphic will be shown with your Pagerank on it. By logging on to the above site, and clicking the Statistic Graphic next to your site, you can see exactly where your backlinks are coming from, and receive very detailed statistics about your site.
