Learn to make your site Search Engine Friendly in 7 Steps
By: Sunriser, Thu Sep 27th, 2007
Here are your 7 Ways to Promote your Website.
1. Your Web Page Title
Write a descriptive and interesting title for your web page. Your keywords
should appear first in your web page title. Avoid using ‘and’ and ‘the’ in
your web page titles. Keep your web page title short and carry some suspense.
These will make your web page more clickable.

2. Your Web Page Header Tag
Make sure your keywords appear in the beginning of your web page header.
Search engines consider words that appear in your web page header to be
important. By placing your keywords in the beginning of your web page header
will improve your web page ranking in the search engines.

3. Your Web Page Description Meta Tag
Use your keywords and write a sentence or two to describe the content of your
web page. Some search engines show your web page description just after your
web page title.
4. Your First Sentence of Your First Paragraph
Your keywords must be mentioned your first sentence of your first paragraph.
Search engines expect you to talk about the important information of your
website in your first paragraph.
5. Your Keyword Density
You may target to have an overall keyword density of around 2%. As a guide,
every paragraph has 1 to 3 keywords. Do not overdo it.
6. Your Website Navigation
Keep your website navigation search engine friendly. Search engines don’t
read JavaScript and Flash navigation menus. Search engines don’t like frames
and overly-nested tables.
7. Your Site Map
Make sure you have a site map with links to all your web pages. This takes
the search engines from your home page to every web page in your web site.
