Holiday Perth Western Australia.
Perth City, in Western Australia was founded by Captain James Stirling as the Swan River Colony 1829.
Australian Map shown below.

Stirling thought the natural environment around Perth was “as beautiful as anything of this kind I had ever witnessed” and advocated that a colony be established there.

The City of Perth being situated on the Swan river provides some of the most beautiful scenic views both by day and night.
Boating and sailing in Perth is a very popular weekly activity especially on the Swan River which flows through the main Perth central metropolitan area on its travel down to Fremantle harbour.

Since its inception in 1984, the Australia Day holiday Perth Sky works has grown into a must
see event for all overseas visitors having those Perth holidays and of course the local residents.
This free fireworks display is the major drawcard on 26th January every year.
This annual holiday event is the largest in the nation, attracting about 400,000 to
travel to the Perth river foreshores
and vantage points such as Kings Park to watch the fireworks over Perth City skyline and Swan River.
The fireworks are synchronised to music soundtracks linked into local Perth radio stations,
to celebrate pride in our country.
The home of Dovada Pty Ltd, which has nearly 1.6 million people is also called
Perth the city of lights, a name that
stems from the days when John Glenn first orbited the earth in his Mercury Friendship 7 space capsule.
Said Glenn: "I'll tell them to turn on the lights at Perth."
It was then the citizens of Perth all switched on their lights for this first American in space as he crossed over the coast of Western
Australia near Perth.

Senator John Glenn admired the lights of Perth from space for the second time in 36 years when he
was working recently aboard the shuttle Discovery saying "But it looks beautiful up here and you can pass that along to the people of Perth".
